• Battlefield 2 Jittery and Shaky on Quad Core

I'm running on a Q9400 2.6Ghz Core 2 Quad, and I have noticed for a long time that Battlefield 2 (and it's Project Reality mod) runs very jittery. Naturally, I believed this was due to the fact that the task manager process library showed BF2.exe set to affinity with all four cores, so I set it to only run on 2 of them to better cope with the game's multicore support, and for a few days the game ran fine. But now, the problem is repeating itself and BF2 is again very shaky and jittery in game, even when I set the affinity for even only one core. I don't know how to fix this or what I have done to bring this nasty problem back, but it is very annoying and makes playing BF2 that much more frustrating. Any advice on what I can do or check to get BF2 running smoothly again? Much appreciated.
What is your graphics card, do you have a psu that can run your system, and what are your temps? Also, how much ram do you have?
4 Gigs of Kingston DDR2 ram, and an NVIDIA GeForce® 260 GTX 896MB DDR3 My PSU is 600W (borderline, but capable of SLI even though I don't use it and the card is fine). I never have heating problems, and this shakiness is only a problem with BF2, not with Half-Life 2, World of Warcraft, or any other game.

No, Really check your temps. I thought mine was doing fine and all the games you just listed were doing fine for me as well but Bf2 lagged. I checked the temp and it was like 80c so I turned it down to 50c.. There's like 40 more fps and everything runs great.
