Buy these games if you enjoy shooting things to make them die.
if you purchase both Serious Sam : The First Encounter HD and Serious Sam : The Second Encounter HD, you only have to install the latter to get access to TFE's maps (even in multiplayer!)
Also buying Serious Sam Classics: Revolution also gives you the original first and second encounter. If you already own them you get Revolution instead. If you never played Serious Sam get Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition which gives you both classic and HD versions for only $4.
Gotta love Croteam.
If you haven't played any Serious Sam games yet, do it. They'll put hair on your chest and make your dick an inch bigger for every level you beat.
Serious deal.
Pretty much get every Serious Sam game (well maybe except 2 it's kinda shitty but come on it's 0.99) they are all incredibly fun games if you like old-school FPS mechanics.
Also the 3rd one is a masterpiece.

It's good, but it has a lot of problems. The first half of the game is too closed in and full of hitscan enemies, and a lot of the new enemy types are just annoying, like the cloned soldier, the cave demon, and especially the technopolips and witch brides. Plus, I think it takes way too much from First Encounter. The final level is amazing though.
That said, Croteam said that they have learned from their mistakes in 3, and if that's true, I absolutely can't wait to play SS4.
I think they said the 4th serious sam would be out this year as it was mentioned and said on that humble bundle page BUT its not announced yet possibly due to them making the other game so hopefully its out next year.

Yeah, at this rate there's absolutely no way it's coming out this year. I remember them saying that SS3 was going to come out Summer 2011, and it released in October (I think).

I disagree, I'd say the HD remakes were masterpieces for me.
Honestly, I love the Serious Sam games, but I can't call any of them masterpieces. They all have their own flaws that hold them back.

Yeah, I consider the HD edition to be my favorite, but still they removed some stuff that the original games had, that is why Revolution is here. So we can have both versions updated.
I own every FPS Serious Sam sans Second Encounter HD.
If I get home and have $ to buy it I probably will, along with a secondary copy of TFE to coop with friends.
The Second Encounter has way too many dumb traps that rely on the wonky physics engine.
Can't say it was enjoyable to be pushed around in Newton's nightmare while kamikazes rain down on you from all directions. Or to be blown into spikes because the random physics forces decided to push extra hard today.
Really ruins coin-op mode, especially because the lives are shared.

Those areas are great because the game supports the Doppler effect!

These games can be really fucking hard and some of the enemies are just fucking bullshit.
But holy shit does it feel good to mow down hundreds of enemies
I picked up the complete pack.

SS3 feels like an extended parody of brown military shooters a-la Call of Duty, one that keeps escalating slowly until it reaches full Serious Sam potential... and then the game ends. I was really disappointed by this.

I'd rather it start and end like a Serious Sam game. I don't want a few boring levels put in for the sake of parody.
I think one reason I like Second Encounter the most is because it has the best pacing. The game is split off into three separate campaigns, and all of them start you off from scratch, so no time is wasted on slow buildup.

It was originally meant to be a military shooter game. Then it fell through and the devs reused the assets for Serious Sam 3, which is why you have the beginning of the game packing mostly-realistic guns with reloads abound until you start getting to the proper weapons later on.
Can someone buy me Serious Sam 2? I have Serious Sam HD FE, SE and SS3 BFE. I don't have the money for it.

Oh and Revolution? I think those are the games that I really need for now, I hear Revolution has to stuff that the HD SE and FE doesn't have so I mainly want it for that.
You really, really don't have 2 bucks but your priorities are still gaming?
I have gotten myself a Serious Sam Classic: Revolution. This is just the greatest update of the classic SS game ever. In fact my 2nd venture of it started by making a deathmatch mode with 1000% of ammo count and fire rate along with 5000 Health. It's just glorious.

Multigravity getting axed is the worst fucking thing
Thanks for linking me to Revolution, it's a god damn steal at that price. Can't wait to revisit TSE classic, the HD version just doesn't cut it for me
EDIT :
I just remembered, Facepunch has had a Serious Sam group created by me for god knows how long. Make sure to join us, I'll probably be playing for a bit

Oh my god, they're extending the deal until October 13. Now I have more time to get Second Encounter HD.
