• My friend bought keys for 50€. Good idea or worst idea?

Alright, so my friend had birthday not long ago and rather to buy something useful like some new headphones or something, he goes on and buys only keys for TF2 with it. It's his money and he can do whatever he want to do with it, But the thing is that he has no internet at home for like 3 months! And it will go on till who knows when his parents aren't that lazy. Also, he got only one hat for all the 25 keys. So choose, good or bad idea? OH GOD EVERYTHING IS CONFUSING! GOOD IDEA = Yes. BAD IDEA = No. I hope this is less confusing now. Lesson learned, never rush at making threads.
Probably the best choice he will make in his entire life.
Took me so long to realise that this was a TF2 thread
You talking about real keys or the ones from TF2?
You talking about real keys or the ones from TF2?

Took me so long to realise that this was a TF2 thread
Yes. Sorry, fixed that one.
he has a gambling problem
If its special keys like the ones during summer, then theres not really anything wrong with it. However if its just regular keys for regular boxes then i dunno, since you can get all of those items by crafting/drops etc
Spending money on a hat simulator is pretty fucked up IMO. It's the worst idea i've ever seen how to spend your bday money...
People spend money on what they like, nothing wrong with that maybe a bit weird you'd use 50 euros on somethings you could for free with time.. but eh
I like TF2, but I still think it's a bad idea. Why would you waste money on something that uncrates a one-in-a-million good chance?
if he gets an unusual he could totally sell it [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] oh nevermind he used them shit
what a confusing poll "Good idea or worst idea? yes/no"
Buying imaginary crap like hats or other dumb crap is completely dumb. Valve is just as worst as any DLC whoring company.
He couldve done so much with that money, terrible decision.
what a confusing poll "Good idea or worst idea? yes/no"
I had to rush a bit. You can hate me for it.
I had to rush a bit. You can hate me for it.
will do
[t]http://i.imgur.com/quaMM.png[/t] "Yes" I'm sorry :v: On a serious note, I never really understood spending money on F2P games, especially for things that are strictly aesthetic.
he can sit and wait for key inflation and then resell them.
I won't judge him, but wasting all your birthday cash / savings on that is stupid.
If he gets an unusual then its worth it. If not then he blew it.
He should have gave it to me. So I can buy a headset and GMod alongside with it. Just saying. Don't be hating or you're an idiot.
I voted yes for worst idea, and no for good idea.
Everyone knows that when somebody says "my friend" they mean themselves but are just ashamed to say "me".
I think a bunch of people tried using 100 keys on 100 crates. They got only few hats and no unusuals. You need extreme luck. He should have bought some new game. Dishonored, Sleeping Dogs, Assassin's Creed 3, Borderlands 2,... (If he wants to invest the money in games.)
He should have bought all the Train Simulator dlcs.
Why not buy a cheap hooker instead? :D
He is dumb for buying them from the store. He could have gotten 50 keys if he had bought from other players.
why didn't he buy any indie games? that's probably what I would've done, but hey, its his money and he can do whatever he wants with it.
He shouldn't have spent all of it on keys.
