I was fooling around with formatting my 16GB flash drive on my mac and PC awhile back, trying to get it to work on both. (found the solution btw) but somehow I ended up formatting it and now it has 200mb of available space, max. How would I go about reformatting it?
note: Trying to format it from the "my computer" section in windows only lets me reformat the 200mb. I'm looking to regain the original 16gb capacity...
Right click your "My Computer" icon and hit Manage. In the management window hit Disk Management and delete any partitions on the drive so all 16GB is recognized on one volume. Once all partitions are gone just format it from there.

Done everything it said, nothing happens.
check if it's fat32 or fat 16 or NTSC. It should probably be NTSC

200MB NFTS partition. and a 14.74 GB unformatted space. I can delete neither, and I can only format the 200MB.
Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Try deleteing it under a live linux distro.

To my knowledge, Windows can only format USB-Sticks out-of-the-box but is unable to create or delete partitions on it.
My best guess is, the partition-table got fucked so you only have 200 MB visible.
Try either a program for partitioning drives or try a linux live-cd and start gparted. There, identify your flash-drive and delete the partition. Create a new one at full size. Done. (Use e.g. Ubuntu. Once started, search gparted. It's in the upper-right menu in the "taskbar". I think it's name was System)
