why would they do this dear god
I don't understand how a simple photo colour tinter is so popular and why you'd even think of buying the rights to one for $1bn
Oh my god those hipsters are going to be so mad
Oh my god those hipsters are going to be so mad
You should have seen the uproar from the people who use Instagram on the iPhone when it became available on Android phones.
if youre on faceebook instagram dont u dare follow me you scum #iPhoneElitist
yes! 17 filters!
Silly Facebook, Instagram is free on the App Store.
It's not about buying instagram alone, it's that everyone who uses instagram, now is part of the FB network. It's partially about consolidating social networking and removing competition. While I don't know if the company was worth 1billion, the customers certainly were.
Oh my god those hipsters are going to be so mad
I think their heads will explode once a WP app is announced.
My phone can do this, and I proved it by making something in Instagram and matching it with my built in phone editing software.
And woopdedoo, the makers of Instagram are set for life.
It makes some photos look good with the right filters, I don't see why you all are complaining
Paul Kedrosky, a tech investor and author of the Infectious Greed blog, told the BBC: "I understand Instagram has 13 employees - so at $77m a head that makes it the most expensive business deal in history that I can think of."
I can't find words or images to convey the holy shit of that.
It makes some photos look good with the right filters, I don't see why you all are complaining
No, it makes photos look ~cool~, artsy and edgy. Not good.
I don't want to use facebook anymore. The whole place is being overrun by morons
God damn, Instagram was great for taking little pictures and making them have an interesting look without having good equipment and/or Photoshop skills. Now these assholes believe they're professional photographers, they critisize the Andriod Instagram with no reason. (Why? Some iPhone users are arrogant as fuck.) Finally it will belong to Facebook, the website will be filled with mediocre photos, the quality will diminish thanks to Facebook's image compression, and it will ultimately be shit.
They bought it for how much?!
I don't want to use facebook anymore. The whole place is being overrun by morons
It's always been overrun with morons, that's an inevitable aspect of opening any place to the masses
No, it makes photos look ~cool~, artsy and edgy. Not good.
You've seen some shitty pictures then...

Instagram in a nutshell.
Oh, no! Instagram has just gone mainstream! What a bunch of sellouts... I guess I should... Um... learn actual photo manipulation then
