How do I go about disconnecting my laptop's keyboard?

I am taking apart my laptop in order to clean it, but I can't figure out how to unplug the ribbon cable for my keyboard without risking damage to the cable or other components.
I have a fairly old Compaq Presario CQ60.
Sorry if this isn't thread worthy.
Shitty picture taken with my iPod:

Its hard to tell from the picture quality but those white tabs on the sides of the ribbon slot should pop up, releasing the plastic "clamp" piece.

I'll give that a try.
