In about a year from now I will have to decide on which high school I want to go to in Sweden. Since the only IB (International Baccalaureate) school where I live is shit I have to resort to other options. I was thinking of going to a IB high school in the United States.
So what I'm asking is, how is high school and life in general in the US? Does it vary between the different states or cities? I would love to go to a high school in a city like San Francisco or New York.
Thanks.
Similar to a pie.
I'm assuming quite fat, everyone carries a gun and a bottle of whiskey :v:
EDIT: If you think I'm serious you have some problems.
It's been going downhill since day one and it's not going to turn around any time soon.
Would not recommend.
Kaze, stop. You're not even an American.
It's pretty simple really, I live in FL so it's really hard to tell how life in other states are. Gas is high and shit.
San Fran and NYC are pretty basic, just 2 huge cities suffering from crime and different races. Such as stereotypes and gangs.
I think you can better say about the opinion about a state, i think every state is different right?
I live in New York in the Bronx, and I can tell you that it's extremely ghetto here. You know what it looks like to walk around grove street in GTA San Andreas? That's what it basically looks like right here.

I was thinking Manhattan.

Then the UK is full of fat people with horrible teeth eating marmite?
I live in a small town that's about 30km from Syracuse. It's not a major city, but it's pretty big. We have our own little OWS marches though. It's pretty basic other than the government and what not.
I was thinking Manhattan.
Manhattan is safe, it's a tourist attraction. Police are more strict there, my aunt is in Queens. It's decent, I've been there and liked it. Wouldn't wanna live in Queens though.
This is what everyone jokes about.

But honestly there are allot of fat people. Walmarts are every and so are fast food restaurants. But its not that bad. For every nice person you met there will be at least two idiots. We also have the hottest women in the hole world and the most skankiest ones two.
Just don't go to south
america's sorta fresh, but also sorta not.
We also have the hottest women in the hole world and the most skankiest ones two.
Fact: Almost every person in the world honestly think that according to some worldwide poll, their country has the most hot girls. It's a lie. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't get this whole stigma about NYC. I live in Brooklyn, and, generally speaking, the entire city is about as safe as any other major city on the planet. With the exception of a few neighborhoods that are fairly easy to avoid, the city really isn't that bad. Most tourists wouldn't have to deal with that anyway, seeing as they stay in Manhattan, which is almost 100% fine except for a few neighborhoods in midtown and near Harlem.
Just don't go to south
Ya I made this mistake DO NOT GO TO THE SOUTH!!! The only thing down here are rednecks and ghetto black people (I'm not racists but there are less white peolpe in my school then there are black and every one at that school has an IQ of very low.)

I'd recommend staying out of the big cities unless you've been there before, if you have money the suburbs can be pretty awesome.

We're a kind mannered group of tea drinking gentlemen with fine suits and monocles. When smoking, we use a pipe unlike those cigarette smoking savages.
The scenery can be very beautiful, the food is amazing (Only because we stole it from every other culture on the entire fucking planet), but never, never go south of the Mason-Dixon line. I'd recommend going to Vermont. Almost all the food there is organic, the only con is that there are a lot of people who smoke marijuana because it's easy to obtain there. The weather is very nice, and there are a lot of cool mountains around.
Anyone live in North Carolina? How's it like there
I'm assuming quite fat, everyone carrys a gun and a bottle of whiskey :v:
Exactly, and we all have a southern accent, and body odor.

I've heard Sweden has one of the best education systems in the world, why do you need to go to an IB school anyway? (whatever they are)
It varies state to state, quite massively.
And there's some odd shit. Like how Northern Mississippi's culture is far more Southern than anything I've seen around Houston, Texas.
but never, never go south of the Mason-Dixon line.
Uhh what, most of the south is fine, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina all have suburbs and stuff like a northern state. But the north is nicer.
If you go to Pennsylvania, avoid the east near Philadelphia, west near Pittsburgh, and center near Amish territory. Basically don't go to Pennsylvania, coming from a person who lives there. And no matter how friendly it sounds, Allentown is NOT. A. NICE. TOWN.
And you wouldn't like high school in New York.
i live in northern illinois near chicago, and i have to tell you that i would never want to live anywhere else.
Fucking incredible. Anyone who disagrees should be beaten.
Anyone live in North Carolina? How's it like there
I'm from there. Pine trees everywhere, many small lakes, and for the most part its pretty flat(so the farther you go from towns, the more farms you will see) The more you go inland the closer you get to hills and eventually the mountains(and rednecks although that doesn't mean they are all white trash). Regardless, it's still a nice place with a lot of history. If you're into that sort of thing, there's lots of historical colonial and civil war landmarks.
As for the people its a mix of both black and white southerners. Not everyone is an ignorant redneck/ghetto idiot though.

90% of all universities would give you a scholarship if they see that you got the IB diploma.
