Is now about restaurant ownership. No zombies in sight.
This is definitely the right decision for him to make.
I'd rather have a good DayZ stand-alone a bit later, then a bad one now. Seems like they're taking the Valve approach. I approve... unless things go into Valve-time territory. :v:
Glad to see this is still receiving steady updates. It has potential, glad the guys making it didn't just run off with their success and leave it for dead.
I had no idea it was supposed to release in December. That seems too early to me. Maybe June of this year maybe.
What food do zombies like to order at this bar? The answer is ghoulash!!
hahah, Shacknews > RPS any day.
destructible terrain
I haven't played the mod but the upcoming standalone version reminds me of Stalker with only zombies.
destructible terrain
arma 2 already has that somewhat
I do hope that you have the ability again to create/repair cars/helicopters/bikes and such, of course it has to be a challenge since you don't want everyone to fly around a helicopter :v: But i could imagine some pretty awesome get-away situations if you are trapped and a helicopter blazes over to rescue you
I wonder if you'll be able to get infections from gunshot wounds.
I wonder if you'll be able to get infections from gunshot wounds.
The heat would kill off all the bacteria instantly.
*gamebreaking
The heat would kill off all the bacteria instantly.
The heat? of what?
I wonder if you'll be able to get infections from gunshot wounds.
If you mean a period of time after you get shot in which you're in a "gunshot wounds" status and are prone to getting infected, we already have bleeding for that. If you mean infected bullets, the heat of firing such a bullet would sterilize it. I can see it happening for crossbows, though.
The heat would kill off all the bacteria instantly.
so you are saying if im shot with a bullet the wound will stay hot until the wound fully heals? neat
The heat would kill off all the bacteria instantly.
Are you thinking about tracer rounds? You would probably get infections in gunshot wounds because of all the shit and parts of your clothes are stuck inside you. And there's also a chance to be lead poisoned if you get shot with a lead bullet. But i doubt Dayz standalone would be that realistic.
I wonder if they didn't want to get a reception like that of the WarZ as a hastily made cheap War.Inc with zombies that was there to make money off the back of the demand for a DayZ game- or if Rocket genuinely just wanted to create something of decent quality.

Instead, they're now performing a major architecture overhaul. Everyone wins. Me too since I wouldn't know where I'd get the time to play DayZ standalone in this Steam sales aftermath.
If you mean infected bullets, the heat of firing such a bullet would sterilize it. The biggest danger is simply having blood gushing everywhere that may lead to secondary exposure through the person's hands and clothing.

Watch Arma 2 suddenly get massive price drops in sales because DayZ will be a standalone
Watch Arma 2 suddenly get massive price drops in sales because DayZ will be a standalone
They don't need to drop the price, it's number one selling again in steam. I am glad arma gets so much attention because the gaming industry needs more developer like bohemia interactive and showing that an open moddable game is still bringin da sales is all I hope for the industries.
Watch Arma 2 suddenly get massive price drops in sales because DayZ will be a standalone
Well if Arma 3 is on it's way I'd say a price drop would be more due to THAT than Day Z

i hope you will be able to not be bored. thats a huge issue in the mod

They certainly have a history of snagging promising mod team like an African warlord and then giving them a proper budget and resources and treating them like Santa.
i hope you will be able to not be bored. thats a huge issue in the mod
The game is what you make it.
im not a developer
