Wow, I'd really love to enter into something like this: my English grades imply I can. Unfortunately I can't really do that for a few years, I'm starting my A Levels in a few months. But something in either game design or game critic/journalism would be my dream job (I don't aim high).
For 8 hours the end of this post was 'I don't high' I should probably not apply...

Why not just try it anyway, the worst they'll do is turn you down and if they don't then they might just have you as a contractor or part time.
This is bugging me, is there any chance that emailing them saying 'hey here's my GCSE grades and what I'm taking at A Level, I'd love to apply but can't for 2 years' (but far more job applicationy and formal) would actually do anything?

Yeah that's true. and tbh I'm really good at writing. I've been a guest columnist for the Op-Ed section of the local newspaper (gets delivered to quite a few towns in the region), scored a 5/5 on the AP English Language and Composition test (which is hard to do), and I've written a bunch of pretty good reviews for games as of late. The most recent being Valiant Hearts.

Well the reason I hate them is because of there often unwarranted sensationalist article titles. Also because of that I changed the RPS bot user title.

Patrick Klepek from Giant Bomb is the only one I know. It's just not that important in the industry
I'm applying for this. While my future has never even hinted at video game journalism, it has always been a very awesome thought to me. As much as I love international politics, I've never been able to step away from the video game scene.

It says in one of the comments or the requirements (I forget where) "brevity is a virtue" so that's exactly what they're looking for. People who can do cool things in 300 words or less.
