GIF's don't have transparencies. BUT, you can add any transparency yourself afterwards.

You don't put the .patch anywhere. That's a patch to the source code, so you can compile your own Chromium build with apngs enabled.

Nah it was Firefox 3. I use Chrome on my netbook because Firefox is an absolute shambles on my Eee.

Did you even read what I said? On my PC IE8 is the best. Firefox continually crashed my PC when I got Win 7, and I know it never happened to anyone else, as soon as I stopped using Firefox, the crashes stopped. I like Chrome (I see how fast it is compared to IE8) but it can't bookmark right, and while I like the tabs in the titlebar, I'd rather have some title bar I can click without clickong on a tab and changing from where I was. Safari, I don't really like the look of it, and the lack of favicons on the bookmarks toolbar really bugs me for some reason, but other than that it's solid enough. IE8 is the only browser on my PC which does what I want. I'm not gonna lie, I miss spellchecking, and a download manager, but would I trade it for Firefox again? Nope.

Unlike many people, I've actually tried all the major browsers and have settled on my favourite, instead of being HURR IE IS SHIT AND STILL IS SHIT and not giving the new one a chance.
I uninstalled IE8 as soon as I installed Win7 RTM.
How I installed FF afterwards is a mystery.
I have next to no need to install Java, even to run this just once. :(
It's tempting to use but my avatar is too badass to replace.
