$1 million? Hoyl fuck.
Sponsored by hats.
Goddamn! 1 million for a game in beta? Funny how Dreamhack's prize haul was something like 100 grand for League and even less for HoN :v:
A Ukrainian team is in, fuck yeah
The winning team will receive $1 million.
I think I need another set of eyes, I am seeing things that are too good to be true.
Valve, I love you so much.
A Ukrainian team is in, fuck yeah
Everybody knows Russian team will win.
definitely should be interesting to watch. not gonna enter it myself though. I've hated DotA since it killed warcraft 3 custom maps :(
why are there 5 teams from china?
The price money is equal to the Nobel price money, holy shit (though you'll probably have to split it with your team members. [sp]unless you kill them[/sp])
2 teams from Denmark. For 1 million dollars, i wish i didn't despise DOTA for ruining WC3.
Oh hey Malaysian team is on the list. Lets hope this team speaks proper English, and good luck to them.
2 teams from Denmark. For 1 million dollars, i wish i didn't despise DOTA for ruining WC3.
More like, it fixed WC3. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] and then LoL came and fixed dota.
why are there 5 teams from china?
Perhaps because they like DOTA? Like Koreans like StarCraft.
1 fucking million for winning a game. The team that wins that will be the luckiest guys on earth that day. Holy shit.
Payed for by firing a bunch of useless extra employees they had laying around. Worked on some pointless secondary project... Half something.

Obligatory Basshunter Dota song for thread music. Also, news posts like these make me regret that I never learned the finer arts of Dotaness.
Guess ill be rooting for Denmark then. I also presume that the teams have already tried the game and trained at some valve place
Someone told me about this and I lol'd because I thought he was joking.
Fuck yeah, Na'Vi is joining. They are great.
At least this shows us that Valve won't be going bankrupt any time soon. But $1 million? People die for less money than that.
Holy shit. Is this like a world record for the biggest prize value for a gaming tournament event?
I am shitting figurative bricks right now.
Hopefully this will bring over all my lazy friends who play LoL and are all "I don't wanna log in to Steam ugh"
1 million? Valve are absolutely crazy and I love them for it. This might actually lead to valve sponsoring more e-sports tournaments in the future if this is a success. Can you actually attend the event?
As a huge Dota and Valve fan and currently playing (and hating) LoL this made my even more hyped.
I know it's a European games conference, but it's a bit weird no American/Korean Teams are playing. Aren't both those places basically the founders of Pro-gaming?
One million dollars seems crazy. I don't know if I would want my life to change so drastically by getting that for playing games, but that's just me.
One million dollars seems crazy. I don't know if I would want my life to change so drastically by getting that for playing games, but that's just me.
This is one of the highest (if not the highest) prize pools for an esport.
