Steam Workshop and a better engine or it won't be a grand finale.

it can be the same shit and will be as awesome.
Although they will obviously add more masks, weapons, etc...
so high hopes for this.

They pushed GameMaker to it's maximum, the game was buggy as shit. But yeah, still awesome.
I just wish they stop using GameMaker, who the hell uses it anyways? Beside kids who google "how to make gaems".
I'm the one of the few people who can't even play the game at full speed because some strange problem that no one can find in Gamemaker. It runs at like 25% the normal speed
I really hope they choose a different way of making the next one
It has compatibility issues with Printers, Wireless Keyboards and Mice, Windows 7 and whatnot.
Although i noticed they have solved a lot of problems since launch.
I have never had any bugs with this game at all.

Neither did I. Not even the earlier versions presented much issue.
i hope the soundtrack is released at the same time
the soundtrack for hotline miami 1 was released like months after

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
A lot of the early bugs have been fixed so you can't say they were because of the engine if they were fixable.
If anything, GameMaker's organizational interface should make it easier to fish out what's causing issues. You can't have a tiny development team like theirs and expect a bug-free product at launch.

They were. They had to work alongside the GameMaker team to fix stuff.
Bugs like incompatibility with wireless keyboards and printers had nothing to do with Hotline Miami itself, but with it's engine which is Closed Source and not even the devs have access to.
I'm just trying to say that with the first one it's ok, they didn't know it would have such a huge success, but they have grown up, they should make their own engine(heck, is gamemaker even an engine?) instead of using drag and drop scriptkiddie gaemaker programs.

Gamemaker made spelunky. Only because scriptkiddies use it to make shitty games that doesnt mean everything that uses it is shitty, and made with drag and drop tools.

I'm going to go ahead and guess they went much further than the drag and drop interfact gamemaker has. I don't think anything remotely like hotline miami would be possible with just what you can do without code.

Spelunky is just fine for Game Maker. I don't think it even uses external libraries, which GameMaker can't handle very well, which is why SteamWorks doesn't work everytime in HotlineMiami.
I'm really excited at the mention of more emotional parts. Subtle things with the girl in Hotline Miami 1 really made the game great.
Shit I didn't even know there's gonna be a 2nd. Better have more awesome soundtrack!
I wonder if it will be set in Miami again, of if it will become Hotline: Las Vegas or something.
Also keeping my fingers crossed for a level editor, that would be totally sweet.

Or that totally crazy host from Make My Video: Kriss Kross

Even if they do the same thing again I'll love it. Along with FTL hotline miami has been my big timewaster for the last few months. Cheap games with great solid gameplay and practically endless replay potential are the best.
A good game is a good game, no matter the toolset. They did a really good job with Hotline Miami, and I couldn't even tell it was a game maker game until it crashed and I noticed 'hey isn't this the gamemaker error window?'.
I didn't know it was a gamemaker game until this thread :v:
