Does the PS4 even have a way to get recorded video off it without sharing to facebook or some shit?
Facebook only afaik.
But I'm not sure since I haven't bothered with the video stuff. I've only uploaded two pictures to twitter to test the image quality.
This is really really convenient if you have a Skydrive account/W8.
I hope gold can give you more Skydrive storage. I already have 27 gigs thanks to 365 but it'd be a nice sweetener if they gave you more storage with Gold. I doubt it though

Facebook is the only way currently, but I think they are adding a youtube option in the future.
There really should be a way of just getting the raw video though, seems like the Xbox's way of doing it is better.

Same goes for every cloud storage. I was hoping they'd give you a deal like they did with Office 365 (year of 20 gigs of extra storage)
Well I suppose the idea is that if you're diligent you can pull the footage from skydrive weekly or whatever and keep the 7 gigs cleared up.
Xbox live gold account or whatever should give you some extra storage. That would be nice.
Otherwise it's nice that they have this alternative. I hope the PS4 ends up getting something similiar, or local recording capabilities.
