• What should I do for my big university art project?

Hey there Facepunch, a bit desperate here. I'm in university for graphic design and we have to put together a final major project, which we spend until June on, then it all goes into an exhibition at the end. We're meant to spend the next two months doing research and putting together a final piece. All of the art courses, such as 3D/Animation/Fine Art contribute contribute so I'm not actually confined to doing something graphic design based. Basically, there are no guidelines really so I can create anything I want as long as I document it and have something to show at the end. I know I'm gonna get 'pugs' as a suggestion a bunch of times, and maybe I could do that? Like, maybe create a poster or campaign about pug and their health issues. But yeah, if anyone has suggestions on what to research or for the actual final piece, that would be great. Thanks!
Is that all there is for guidelines? Just a lot of research that comes together in a final project?
If you're doing graphic design, you'd probably want to do something that would really benefit your portfolio as well. Something that really impresses clients and potential employers are very cohesive branding schemes and ad campaigns. Maybe re-brand an existing company complete with a new logo and how their merchandise, clothing, vehicles, and etc. would look with some brilliant ads on top of that. Another thing that has landed me several contract jobs is my work in environmental and exhibition design. This one could be expensive to do on your own, but it looks really impressive when you know how to translate your design skills to 3D spaces and environments.
