It's a really good and fun game, but Ubisoft lied about so much.
I barely knew anything about the game when I bought it, just that I liked Ubisofts other games. Hell, lack of hype knowledge is pretty much the reason why I keep buying Ubisoft's games. I guess it works, because I actually enjoy them. Puts a whole new meaning to the term "Ignorance is bliss", doesn't it?
but not buyer satisfaction
but not buyer satisfaction
if people pre-ordered it then they deserve what they get to be totally honest. fuck em, there's been so much talk about how bad pre-orders are for the industry but peeps gotta have their super duper DLC
People were tricked and deceived into it. It's not as big of a bait and switch as Colonial Marines was, but it's in the same realm. And because it did well, it'll happen again

Put enough marketing money behind an average game and it'll sell like a masterpiece.
Can't even get to the 3rd main mission, boring game and I end up just driving around aimlessly causing damage and killing people.
Not a bad game, but also not nearly as good as advertised. 30$ would be a reasonable price for it.
Not even if had all the features that were advertised i would pay this much.
tbh I didn't really follow this game after E3 and I'm still disappointed I wasn't expecting much but the gameplay really loses it's charm after the first few hours and the story and characters were eh. still though if they make a sequel I hope they execute it better.
Kind of makes me wish the old EGM was still around. Even though they wouldn't have gotten a review copy as they made Ubisoft's shit list by not giving Assassin's Creed a overly glowing review, hearing how Ubisoft has them marked for death for again not giving one of their games a glowing review would have been probably more entertaining than the game itself. Not that I know if the game is fun or not mind you.
if people pre-ordered it then they deserve what they get to be totally honest. fuck em, there's been so much talk about how bad pre-orders are for the industry but peeps gotta have their super duper DLC
there's someone in the watch dogs thread that said something like "hmm the game doesn't look that great, so i'm going to downgrade from digital deluxe to special edition" (or whatever fuck you i don't know what they're all called)
Maybe companies should stop hiding content behind preorders
They will when retailers stop paying so much for exclusive content. Devs absolutely hate franchise content. It's not scheduled so we have to move our headcount around and get off schedule to make a new hat for Walmart.
I imagine it would have sold even better had they not delayed it.
but not buyer satisfaction
I am 100% satisfied with it, spent at least 10 hours on it so far.
The game is a fucking blast. This thread is just Facepunch bandwagon hatred.
Proof that hype works. Record-breaking sales for what is, by all reports, a pretty mediocre game.
such as
if you really have to have it explained to you i don't think you're in any sort of position where you'd care/listen/not disregard everything. [editline]28th May 2014[/editline] with that being said it's still p-hype. i'm just happy i didn't get swept up in the hype or else i'd probably hate it.

Nothing "next gen" about it.
did they lie about anything else apart from the graphics?
The game is a fucking blast. This thread is just Facepunch bandwagon hatred.
It's fun but it's not even close to GOTY worthy. The story is substandard and full of holes, the combat is a mess, the UI is a wreck, side missions are practically identical, weapons feel like leafblowers, so much other stuff. The games only real strong point is the dark soulsesque multiplayer and the the "hacking". The city feels identical, it's either near-future downtown or ghetto slums and the only interesting area is Pawnee. It's fun but if you want to see bandwagon go to /v/. Not worth $60 imo.
I'll hand it to Ubisoft, they are some marketing geniuses.

At least Watch Dogs 2 is gonna be off the hook.
