• I need advice on buying a suitable mp3 player for my grandfather.

My grandfather has high blood pressure so to alleviate this he regularly goes on long walks and whilst doing so he listens to music on his mp3 player, however his mp3 player is a few years old and he's been having some technical issues with it, battery running out very quickly, randomly turning off, music corrupting etc. It can also only hold around 500 songs. I've also recently came into some money of which I have no urgent need of, so as a present and as a thank-you for all the nice things he's done for me over the years I decided I would buy him a new mp3 player, but I'm not really sure what would be best. What I'm looking for is -Must be easy to use ( no propriety software, just drag and drop music form his PC) -Have a large capacity, at least 64gb -Form the research I've done I want to spend around £200, but if necessary I'll spend a bit more. -Reliable and built to last. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.
I hear Cowon makes some good MP3 players.
Get him an iPod Classic? They're dead simple, 160GB by default, and are $250 USD, which is less than 200 GBP afaik. woop looks like i didnt read close enough, no proprietary software
The Sandisk Sansa line is fabulous, I don't think they come in that high of a capacity though. but why do you need it that high?

The SDXC has to be formatted as FAT32 for the player to recognise it, though, apparently.
You could check out the Cowon x9 (I was looking at what MP3 players they had after benjgvps mentioned them): http://www.cowonglobal.com/product_wide/COWONX9/product_page_1.php It has a decent size to get a good grip on it, he most likely won't lose it because of the size, it's rated at 110 hours on music playback so he'll only have to charge it once a week, and pretty simple, large, and clear UI. There's also a MicroSD card slot and an FM radio. It comes in white, black, and 8, 16, and 32GB versions. If you don't think that will suit him, you can check Cowon's site for others or just go for another suggestion in the thread, like the Sansa Player and MicroSD cards.
