this screen has been showing up for the past week when i try to shut my computer off. everything would go as usual untill it got passed the log off screen; this screen would appear. anyone else ever had this problem? or know how to solve it? i can't recall anything being installed on my computer recently that might have caused this. system specs incase you need them: Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 Quad-Core Processor, MMX, 3DNow (4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Ram: 4GB Hard Drive: 640 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 OS: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090804-1435)
I googled: C000021A 0x00000000 (0x00000000 0x00000000) It can be caused by a recently installed program or hardware. Go google it yourself for more info.
already tried googling, and i only found solutions for 0x00000031 (or something like that) and they all said it was from a recently installed program none of which helped me
Nice screen I have similar mines 2253LW a similar model. So let be get this straight this happens when you turn your pc off? If that is the case a program isn't closing properly try opening task manager and closing some things manually till it blue-screens then you have your problem program.
So let me get this straight... You get the blue-screen when you try turning your computer off, and the BSOD proceeds to turn your computer off. What are you complaining about?
It means that winlogon isn't terminating correctly during shutdown. Killing the process while logged on always throws up a BSoD; so Windows is fucking things up during shutdown.

I would suggest a System Restore. Restore to a time before the BS occurred. Then post results.
bad drivers
Safe mode then system restore
I tried in safe mode and the blue screen didn't show. trying in normal now - still shows blue screen :/ also I'd like to try other stuff before a system restore, because I would lose a lot of stuff if I would do one.
I get this too. I get really scared. :ohdear:
yesterday when i turned my pc off, I was waiting for the screen to show up and it didn't! I was so glad, hope it won't show again! I'm not sure exacly what i did to do this, all I know is that avg picked up a couple trojans and said i shouldn't remove them because it might cause my system to crash, so I put them into the vault and I think that might have done it.
You still should back your shit up and reformat, your windows is probably dying actually. I had this with XP, it used to bluescreen all the time then eventually it wouldn't boot.
