Is there a bee flying around my ear? Cause all I hear is buzz
Don't they always say "Best entryway" each game that gets released?
The first Assassin's Creed was the best entry point in the franchise. I don't know why but I didn't like it's sequels - it just didn't hit all the way home.
Ass Creed 2 was the best game out of all of them released so far. It did everything right, the story was great, setting was interesting, the characters were likable.

AND I think it preceded the chain-murder mechanics of Brotherhood, although double-takedowns were still a thing.
4 is my favourite because it was relaxing to sail around with your crew singing shanties.

Double-takedowns were in I know, I don't know about the chain-murders though.
I'm certain the whole overpowered chain-killings mechanic didn't pop up until Brotherhood, along with the recruitment and sending recruits off on missions throughout Europe, and the crossbow nukes that came from a full Command bar.

Yeah, that was Brotherhood.
Though I'll probably get a lot of shit: AC3 was the best story and character wise yet. Better paced IMO to the other games (a little more slow). Black Flag to me is the best gameplay wise.
This is the end of a comment on PC gamer I saw about Unity, and it resonated with me, it was talking about why people dislike ACIII and Conner.
They'd rather see a cool pirate or a sexy ladies man than a realistic and incredibly culturally important Native American. Just like real life. Everyone loves a jingoistic cowboy, no one gives a damn about an indian. That's fine, but stop lying about it. I'll stop short of calling it racist, but it's sure as hell racial.
He also said this in response to someone saying that ACIII was the Patriot with a mildly altered plot.
Yeah, remember when Mel Gibson played that Native American who had to choose between vengence for his mother and the survival of his race and culture?
Conner's story was far from boring, it just wasn't some sort of charismatic ladies man for once.
except conner wasn't an interesting character

WHERES CHARLES LEE!?!?!?
Of course it would seem simple if you simplify it like that. Conner was far more reserved and mature than Ezio and Edward. Which can seem 'boring' to some, but made him to me the most likeable, relatable character in the series. He was realistic.
Now Altair was a boring fucking character, I don't really remember him having much of a personality except "DOING IT MY WAY". Ezio was just an Italian Playboy looking for Revenge in II. Edward is concerned with himself and money (of course this could change before the end of the game, but I'm in sequence 7 so that could change, but idk).

Edwards character traits
need fukken money
the fuck do i do with me life m8?
altairs character traits (ac1)
fuck you what i did was right. the end basically
ezios character traits
gotta fuck up the faggots who killed my family
what is all this assassin nonsense
No matter how you try to put these things across, I believe that all AC games had great protagonist developement (bar Revelations where basically it was all to wrap up Ezio's story despite being basically a DLC for Assbro; i still loved it because Ezio is best)
Hell, if you didnt notice, Ezio's voice goes deeper as the story progresses. How many games drop that kind of a detail?

The chain kills were added in Brotherhood because countering was the optimal way to play AC 1 and 2. My solution would have been to have fewer fights, why is an assassin fighting 10+ guards at a time?
Feudal japan Assassin's creed please with Samurai and Ninja's, just think of the awesome weapons and armors :D
If they could find a way to do Templars in medieval China, that'd be kickass.
Automatic crossbow?
Fireworks?

ACIV has the biggest dick tease for that [sp]when you hack into one of the computers, an E-Mail list tells you of all of the interesting places that Desmond's ancestors lived in. Feudal Japan being one of them.[/sp]

yeah basically. Seriously, Ezio had 3 games for people to love him, and I just think because of that attachment with Ezio, it was hard to move onto Conner.
I liked Ezio, and ACII is my favorite in the series for combined story/gameplay, III for pure story, and IV for pure gameplay.
not to mention the conversation you hear in the opening modern day tour
"man it would be really cool to go to FEUDAL JAPAN"
that too.
I think Ubisoft is really just trying to piss people off even more. :v:
I don't believe in entry points. I didn't like AC1 at all and i have no desire to try any AC game.
The fact that they release one every year also keeps me away.
The chain kills were added in Brotherhood because countering was the optimal way to play AC 1 and 2. My solution would have been to have fewer fights, why is an assassin fighting 10+ guards at a time?
Well, fewer fights and/or maybe a less overpowered combat system where all the guards mob you at once rather than dance around you like they're auditioning for Lord of the Dance or whatever. More means with which to avoid or escape fights, more incentive to avoid getting into fights, and generally embrace the ethos of ghosting, nonlethal, etc. If they ever did a WW1/WW2 Assassin's Creed, that's how they'd have to go about doing it since 20th century bullets are not the fragile gobstoppers of the Renaissance/Enlightenment era and can be fired in rapid succession.
Also, concerning the Assassins and Japan, perhaps such a game could be set during the Sengoku period of unrest, or even the Edo period of isolation. Either way, Japan might have its own variant of the Brotherhood, mostly akin to the ninja but with the similar slight "superhumanity" found in most Assassins. And as for the pop culture image of the ninja as, well, supernatural assassins with weird powers, maybe such myths could be rationalized with certain gadgets or their natural Assassin talents or, if need be, occasional use of artifacts of the First Civilization for some of the more "otherworldly" powers attributed to ninjas. (the stereotypical "smoke and vanish" thing could easily be done with a smoke bomb)
Hell, it could be a testbed for a rejiggering of the franchise, putting out the first of such ninja-stealth AC spinoffs as "Shinobi's Creed" or "Assassin's Creed: Shinobi" or something.

I'm not sure if you're including it by saying AC2 but personally I found Brotherhood to be the most fun to play.
Not counting Black Flag. I kind of find it hard to compare.
[editline]9th July 2014[/editline]
And I think the chainkills were excellent in Brotherhood. I mean, in BH you're already a fucking badass, I thought it was a really nice tough to make you feel like one, and not like starting over fresh with the same character that technically already has so much experience.
It could have been left out of AC3 and Black Flag though.

i bet any money it's in the pipeworks, there was an unisoft dev commented on someones post somewhere who asked for a Feudal japan AC and the dev just did ";)"
i just really hope they go to town with it and do like amazing swords and proper ninja abilities and weapons and add something different to the formula and unique fighting styles and armor. plus an assassin modelled set of Samurai armor would look amazing!
