Just built a new computer but it isn't quite working right. Steam just locks up and when it's up it doesn't download very fast and it often just sits there not downloading at all. My laptop works faster than this thing.
Specs:
Intel i7 920
EVGA x58 mobo
Corsair ddr3 ram. 6 Gigs
BFG nVidia gtx 260 oc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also this is my first build so it's possible I forgot to do something.
Anything else locking up or other problems?
First of you could try downloading newest motherboard drivers (network, sound, etc) and see what's up.
Yeah i'm going over that stuff right now. Hopefully that fixes it and if it doesn't I'm going to open her up and make sure everything is clean on the inside.
what OS?
and try reseating ram.
Windows vista 64. And I think it's working now.
