I do not need an i7 processor or a pimped out ATI card and I already have HDDs and DVD drives just so you know. Do you guys think this is a decent build? What I could use some help choosing is a heatsink/CPU fan.
Go with a phenom II 955 build.
You should buy an ATi 4670 with 1GB DDR3 instead. Correct me if i'm wrong, but according to what i've seen, it should beat the card you've chosen.

that's a terrible power supply, and the case is mediocre. don't get that.
that's a terrible power supply, and the case is mediocre. don't get that.
Who's build are you talking about.
that's a terrible power supply, and the case is mediocre. don't get that.
Really, you shouldn't post if you don't have any suggestions after that.
Who's build are you talking about.
I think he's talking about the OP's build, the case is pretty shit but the psu is fine.
I think he's talking about the OP's build, the case is pretty shit but the psu is fine.
I was like if you are talking about mine you are seriously misinformed.
Get this, but with this combo deal for cpu/mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.315742 And this Case/PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.315680
that's the one i was talking about [editline]07:24PM[/editline] this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.315680 you shouldn't get a combo like that just because it's two things you need for cheap. especially if the two things included are crap

that's antec.
that's antec.
There's nothing wrong with Antec's power supplies.
that's antec.
Proof that high post count adds nothing to the credibility of one's posts.
Well, a lot of MOBOs come with IDE and SATA cables. You might want to check if cables are bundled with that mobo Also, for cheaper than the 9800, you can get a GTS 250 or a 4850 that is newer and has about the same power.

antec makes good cases, not sure about PSUs though
I would go for i7 or i5, there's really no point buying 775 or am3 sockets anymore, if you want your build to be future proof.
There's nothing wrong with Antec's power supplies.
there isn't, no, and that wasn't my point. regardless of who that PSU is made by, that's a rather shoddy PSU.
there isn't, no, and that wasn't my point. regardless of who that PSU is made by, that's a rather shoddy PSU.
I have an Antec Earthwatt 650 Watts. It's doing fine.
again you're missing the point. that isn't an EarthWatts psu
again you're missing the point. that isn't an EarthWatts psu
So instead of bitching at everyone why dont you find another trusted brand PSU that is around the same watts and price and let him decide?
antec makes good cases, not sure about PSUs though
Their PSUs are just as good as their cases. Definitely a brand name in PSUs.
again you're missing the point. that isn't an EarthWatts psu
It's still an Antec PSU.
While most Antec PSUs are decent, earthwatts over 700w have been know to have problems?
While most Antec PSUs are decent, earthwatts over 700w have been know to have problems?
Can you back up your accusation?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371026 That? It seems fine.
Can you back up your accusation?
no he can't
