I recently bought a Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD
It is hooked up to my computer, but it doesn't show up in my computer
No idea why, I checked if any of the cables were broken, but no
My Pc specs if that can be any helpfull:
CPU: AMD X6 1055T at 3.2GHz
MOBO: Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5
RAM: 8 GB Corsair Vengeance
GPU1: ATI Sapphire 5850 1 GB
GPU2: ATI Sapphire 5850 2 GB
HDD: Samsung spinpoint f3 1 TB
PSU: Corsair HX650
CPU COOLER: Corsair h50
CASE: Silverstone FT02
My plan is, if the SSD can be connected, is to install Windows 7 on it, but Windows 7 is already on my HD, but one problem at the time...
Did you try disconnecting your HDD and only running the SSD? That's what I did when I installed my OS on SSD.

You're saying it doesn't show up, is that in Windows and bios or only Windows? Does it show in bios?
And to the other problem. You can use Norton Ghost to transfer your Windows 7 from your HDD to your SSD! That's what I did when I got my first SSD.

Then you knows it works at least. Are you saying you installed Windows on it with HDD disconnected but you only get background when you're about to boot?
winkey+r, diskmgmt.msc, format it

As DarkImmortal said, format it and then use Norton Ghost to transfer your Windows 7 from your HDD to your SSD.
Control panel - Administrative tools - Computer Management - Storage - Disk Management -
If you dont see it there,Try to rescan (Action - Rescan disk.
youll prolly have to adress it a Drive letter or format it.
Good luck

Holy shit! thanks everybody, it now shows up on my computer!
And as I already posted. Use Norton Ghost if you wanna keep using your existing Windows 7 installation. Otherwise feel free to do a fresh install.
Also, there are a couple tweaks to reduce writing on your precious SSD.
Turn off pagefile and put it on HDD.
Turn off/change location for indexing.
Change location for Appdata/Temp etc. Temp is really useful because when you watch youtube it caches on your SSD.
It's up to you how you wanna use it but feel free to ask if you want :).

This is how mine looks like.

It's easy to forget about these tweaks and suddenly it had shitloads of writing on it. This is SSDLife, REALLY useful for checking how much it has written etc.
You guys are fucking awesome. Much love to this sub-forum, seriously.
