I need a new game and I have roughly £35 on hand. I am tempted to get Fable 3 although most reviews say it is the let down of the series. As somebody who has religiously played both Fable and Fable 2 is the third one worth getting?
God no, it's terrible.
The leveling system is completely changed and you can't just 'access' it like in Fable 1 and Fable 2, the storylines completely boring and dull, no strange twists (i.e sex change bottle, having to choose between $1,000,000 or the life of your dog etc.)
Save your money on a nicer game, seriously. I'm a huge Fable fan but the game was just terrible.
Edit: (Also this thread would of been a little bit more suitable for fast threads.)

Are there any other games out now that are more worth it?
Preferably something to tide me over until skyrim.

Second to this. The game was pretty bad, they basically cut all the ties from the original game due to the fact that Peter Molyneux was quoted stating that they were moving away from the RPG genre and veering towards the Action side of the game. Peter Molyneux is an intelligent man but he is fucking up his once beloved franchise. I'm sorry if you just wanted a straight yes or no. But lots of people like to take the opportunity to criticise Fable III.
I don't even know if they will be able to salvage the tatters of the franchise since they are moving on too making Fable 4 top priority after Fable: The Journey. Fable seems to have basically just become a cash-cow and it makes me slightly unhappy as I feel that Fable still could have a chance (Albeit a slight one).

It's a massive disappointment with little to do outside the very short and lackluster main quest. Buy a different game.
If you want a Roleplaying game, I highly recommend The Witcher 2.
