thread title, i want to give the windows partition some more hard drive space. rate me boxes
It is possible to extend / shrink partitions without formatting them, however I would suggest backing up everything first and not using the built in Windows partition tool.
Use partition master, has saved my ass 2 times.
the winows partition cannot see the mac partiotion, but the mac partition can see the windows partition, so i think the windows partition "thinks" its a seperate hard drive and i dont know if a widnows "partitioner" would work
Paragon partition Manager is available via CNET downloads. Good programme.
Use partition master, has saved my ass 2 times.
gparted.
yes but you have to defragment first otherwise you can't really shrink it and add an extra partition. And if you somehow force the repartition without defragmentation, then it messes up everything.
gparted.
I second gparted. It's free, it runs as a live CD, and works brilliantly. Fast, too. You should still backup first, because there's always a chance it'll go bad though.

Any partition manager will work tbh
I just put the windows disk in as though I'm going to install and partition it with that
Seconding (or thirding) gparted. Super easy to use. But also defragment before resizing partitions to reduce the risk of errors.
gparted is awesome and comes on a live cd. get it
