I don't really see how it is bad to have more features. Although I am confused about achievements that don't enter into your gamerscore? What would be the point of getting them then.
Well, it's a harmless feature, so I don't see the problem, I just don't see the point of its existence.
Actually, someone's probably going to somehow die because they decided to watch 80 hours worth of movies in one go with just drinking coke and then the old farts who make the news will blame this, or so I guess.
It's probably part of the tutorial for setting up your Xbox and exploring the features. Like when you get achievements in videogames for swinging a sword.

They'll probably do something like what GetGlue does, where you get achievement for tuning into a season premiere or finale for a show.
