So I was going to switch between my sister's session and mine (mine is the only one which runs as admin, mind you) when, as I click on mine, a black screen appears, and I'm booted back to the choose-your-session screen, with a 640*480 resolution.
I reboot my PC, and I can log in successfully — aero is not enabled anymore, and DXDiag reports this

Note that my GPU's fan normally stops spinning when Windows 7 has finished booting (I think it's when it has loaded the driver), but right now it doesn't stop spinning AT ALL
GPU is a nVidia GeForce 9600GT I undusted a few weeks ago, overheating has never been a problem with it
CPU is an Intel Q8200 @ 2.33 ghZ
Should I try downgrading my driver or will this just make it worse? (note that I upgraded to the new 256.x a few weeks ago, last one was in the 190 ish)
-How did you undust it?
-Download drive sweeper and remove the driver
-Then reinstal the driver.
-Reseating the GPU might also work
-Make sure the power plug from your PSU is connected (if it has any)
Unplug and replug everything.
Very likely to be a driver problem, do what the first reply told you.
alright, fixed it, went into the device manager, it somehow had disabled itself
