Right, I have the AMD Phenom II 940 quad core. Is a hackintosh viable at all for my computer, or do I have to do this one on my C2D laptop? 4Gb DDR2 RAM Radeon HD 4890 Sound Blaster Audigy 4 gold Gigabyte M720-US3 motherboard.
Will this help at all? http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Leopard will run on AMD machines (with the right distro) but Snow Leopard is for Intel only at the moment.
Thanks for that, next time my windows installation goes tits up I'll get this installed.
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227592
That's probably the best you'll get for now.
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227592
Thanks, I have that bookmarked for when I need it. I only need it after I get my Blackberry, Android and J2ME apps complete.
You can get the latest update of OSX while on an AMD processor. Look for a 10.6.3 distro, it should support AMD. Then after that, there are sites that help you update from 10.6.3 to whatever update you wish. Generally it involves replacing kexts before you restart to help keep it working right. I currently have a Phenom II X4 and (not counting my current gpu) it runs pretty well on 10.6.7.
