Today during class we learned how to ghost drives using a free personal edition of symantec's ghosting software and I can't seem to find it anywhere...only stuff I have to pay for...link please to free version?
there's a free alternative, I don't remember the name right now, but it'll come to me eventually

Clonezilla?

ya, that one
Do you know if Clonezilla can ghost a internal hard drive to a external one?

And what I plan to do is make a fresh install of XP on a 120GB and ghost it to a spare 10GB so I always have a backup with driver and everything preinstalled. Will this work? I was reading about certain things not working

It's complicated to ghost a bigger drive to a smaller drive. It would be better if you just formatted a 10 GB partition on your 120 GB drive, installed XP and then ghosted it off elsewhere. If you ever had to restore, you could expand the partition after you re-ghost it

Darn...wish you had posted before I reformatted...is it at all possible? I really don't feel like sitting through XP installing again
Or can it save the ISO to my secondary hard drive without formatting it?

Why does it matter? The partition I make anyways will be smaller...how is that different from a smaller hard drive
