The time is somewhere between 60's to 80's (the book is relatively old). The book was about a boy who never understood the television, and overall never watched it. He ate some kind of healthy food, and didn't actually eat anything from the supermarket (don't ask me how he survived). Soon he learned that the government adds something to the food and researches it. He finds some information, but the article was destroyed by the government and librarians who learned of the article was silenced. The boy tried some normal food, and become affected by television, and enjoyed it. On the next day, he was about to get out the information, but was taken by the government agents who believed that he had mental problems (they said to his parents that the boys grades we're getting worse). He and a few other children we're contained and slowly brainwashed into state of low mental power (hypno-screens or something were used). From what of the name, I only remember this: "A (bowl of?) X a day, makes (for?) a growing boy" The story was in the same book as where was the well known "Gremlin" Twilight Zone story. NVM, I think I found it. A Bowl of Biskies Makes a Growing Boy, (nv) The Other Side of Tomorrow, ed. Roger Elwood, Random 1973
