Well, that's a thing I guess. Not entirely sure what the point is, other than to make texture packs and custom maps more accessible (and profitable) for small children who don't understand file editors (MC:W10 can run texture packs up to 128x by default, just by dropping them into a folder. Same with custom worlds.) I guess it does avoid the issues the Java version has with Ad.Fly, which is a terrible abomination of a service that shouldn't exist. I'm also unsure of the creation of a mod economy, but that seems to be the way things are trending. Personally, I'd like the W10 version to reach feature parity with the Java version, just so the game can actually finally run well and be properly modifiable (the Windows 10 version can run stably with infinite draw distance as well, which is incredible for any title of this sort.) From a practical perspective, it's amazing this game is still doing well enough that they can still monetize it. It's been out for ten years, and they're still raking in cash hand over fist.
[QUOTE=Handsome Matt;52084764]This isn't done very well... or well it's not done very well to be friendly to consumers, especially children playing it - removing the idea of actual currency being spent on mods etc.. And as far as I can tell - this is exclusively for paid mods? Why not make it easier to get free mods first, test the platform first etc.. just pretty shit tbh.
