• Laptop overheats very easily.

I've had this laptop for a few years now, but i've only had the problem this year. At first I thought it was just a problem with Total war that the pc'd overheat and shut itself down if I left it on a flat surface (I now play games with my laptop on my lap or the bit near the fan will be off the side of whatever surface) but it's been happening to a lot of games, even simple stuff like mount and blade (though it's yet to happen on some really old stuff, like avp 1999) recently I deleted a lot of shit before this all happened. The computer was a little slow and I still had a lot of the HP preloaded shit on it (i think this might'be been it, since some things looked like they might've been relevant. I also updated a graphics driver because a long time after updating to windows 10 certain games wouldn't start up. Any suggestions? Is there software to deal with overheating? Stuff does for the most part run faster, and it'll run fast even when it meets temporary death (the game is still on when i turn the computer back on, running fast, probably getting me killed, but i suppose that's better than a reboot/computer death) If I wasn't broke i'd be really happy to get a new computer (the screen is fuzzy unless i hold it in place and the specs won't run anything new) but I don't think the age of the thing is relevant.
Take it apart, clean out the dust, and reapply the thermal compound if you can. Overheating isn't caused by deleting stuff and installing drivers.
