• Keyboard isn't working properly after malware fix

Ended up getting some malware. After removing it with Malwarebytes, my USB keyboard stopped working. I know it's receiving power because its backlight is coming on, but none of my actual keypresses do anything. Interestingly enough, though, I can still adjust the volume using buttons on the non-working keyboard, and I can type using an old-style keyboard (non-USB... not sure what the port is called). I'm running windows XP and the malware I got was the "Windows XP Antivirus" scam. Thanks in advance!
If you got XP Antivirus then it might of installed some malware into the driver files so when you cleaned, it got rid of the drivers?
Your old PS/2 keyboard works, but your USB one doesn't? Does it have drivers?
It probably deleted your drivers. See if you can reinstall them somehow.
My keyboard didn't come with any driver disk or anything. I'm going to check the device manager though. [editline]10:35PM[/editline] Reinstalling the drivers fixed it. Thanks all.
You're welcome my friend!
