I'm going to build a PC for a friend soon, and I don't know which 5770 to go for. I want the "Egg-Shaped" version, as I heard it runs cooler than the full length, it's smaller as well, which is a little plus.
They're pretty much the same.
Only difference is the price, cooler, and the sticker on it.
go for the cheapest
all the same thing anyway

XFX has the best warranties, PowerColour the crappest service and Sapphire is a good all rounder, i'm currently using the "Egg Shaped" version and it does run pretty damn cool.
I think the enclosed ones would be better for computes without that much airflow as it pushes air out the back

I think that one, any second thoughts?

Best one just because of the warranty imo.

Hah, it comes with Battleforge if you get it in a combo, yet Battleforge is free.
I'd go with a sapphire.
They make some great cards and specialize in ATI cards, not swing both ways.
and specialize in ATI cards, not swing both ways.
what the fuck does this have to do with anything

When going ATi, Sapphire is always the safest choice.
what the fuck does this have to do with anything
Sapphire is more... durable(?) than other manufacturers when it comes do ATI cards, that's what this has to do with anything.
All cards are the same. They have the same GPU made by ATI. They will all perform the same. The only thing you should take account when buying is price and customer service.

Um no, different cards have different cooling and different warranties.
[editline]12:43AM[/editline]
and some of them are factory oc'd
When going ATi, Sapphire is always the safest choice.
because it's not like double lifetime warranty will cover anything
because it's not like double lifetime warranty will cover anything
what card has "double liftetime" warranty.
what card has "double liftetime" warranty.
XFX cards
besides you make it sound like you'd rather go for the cheapest shit cause you can replace it any second rather than taking something that costs almost nothing more but is more durable.
[editline]02:00AM[/editline]
Also XFX just started on the ATI market yet they're more expensive than any sapphire card here in Europe. So there's virtually no pro to taking XFX over sapphire except personal preference

Um no, the same stock retail card from Sapphire and from ASUS are exactly the same except for service, price, and appearance.

Different cooling does not affect performance, only temperatures.
Warranties tie into customer service. A card can have a super quadlife warranty, but it won't mean anything if the company doesn't honor the warranty.

wow are you really fangasming over a GPU brand
so what if they're not as "aged", it's not like they can fuck anything up putting a sticker on a plastic cover
there's virtually no pro to taking XFX over sapphire except personal preference
other than getting a lifetime warranty that's also passed to the next card owner making it much easier to sell, not to mention good support

you said "all card are the same", i was proving it otherwise

actually you're the one trying to justify the use of an XFX here :science:.
I just say my personal preference is sapphire for ATI cards and you react by saying any card is better, then afterwards giving XFX as example. In no way are they a terrible company, infact I think they're great but my preference stays with Sapphire.
tl;dr you're the one "fangasming" here.
Um no, the same stock retail card from Sapphire and from ASUS are exactly the same except for service, price, and appearance.
ok, you're comparing 2 companies, there are plenty more

ati doesn't sell cards, how can you prefer them over XFX

Already fixed the mistake. :engleft:
I just say my personal preference is sapphire for ATI cards and you react by saying any card is better
at what point did I say "any card is better"
and if preferring to choose a brand because it has a better warranty instead of because they've been putting stickers on plastic covers for longer makes me a fanboy then gee I must have been using a completely different definition of fanboy all this time
at what point did I say "any card is better"

because it's not like double lifetime warranty will cover anything
you weren't pointing every card out that's true but you were pointing out xfx specifically.
Anyways like I said in my last post, you're the one "fangasming" here while the OP just asked for personal opinions rather than XFX-SAPPHIRE INTERNET HISSYFIT
[editline]02:27AM[/editline]
and there we go again
my sapphire 5870 is good my xfx 4670's were also good end of discussion k
reapaninja why do you give a shit if they're all the same exact card except for sitckers and plastic covers. It doesn't make a difference to you what card the OP buys, were just saying if you buy ATI, buy from someone that has been making them since forever.
