Ow wow, who is selling you this horrible horrible mess. I dont think ive ever seen a worse gaming pc:v:
Please link me to the site.
Breakdown:
CPU:
The CPU is horribly overpriced and really overqualified for gaming. In a way that a cpu like the i5-3570k which is half the price, would perform exactly the same.
MOBO:
An overpriced CPU needs an overpriced motherboard.
GPU:
A 600$ intel extreme CPU and a 50$ nvidia 640 GPU? Talk about unbalanced. You can have a 100$ cpu, but on this GPU you will not even run skyrim on medium settings.
GPU2:
As if one horrbile GPU isnt enough. Lets add another one, which is even worse. For no reason whatsoever
HDD COOLING:
You dont need it.
PSU:
Where is it?
[editline]12th May 2013[/editline]
Seriously dont buy this. You can buy a pc that performs way better in games for 1/3 of the price. And im not joking.

HX650 is a bad value for what it offers, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182264 for about the same price or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207029 for $10 more.
Judging by his first post, I don't think it's necessary at all for him to have a high end closed loop water cooler. I doubt he would be overclocking heavily either, so just give him a Hyper 212 EVO or NZXT HAVIK 140.
Price really isn't an issue. Less than $2k would be good for everything I need.
So for the CPU, i7 won't make a difference?

Only thing a regular (socket 1155) i7 adds is hyper threading, Which isnt really usefull in games.
The one you selected is on a server/enthousiast socket 2011 and offers 6 cores and quad channel memory support. This can be marginally usefull, but i doubt you will even notice it. And its certainly not worth the 600$+100$ extra for a 2011 mobo.

Not that useful, but cool as fuck.

I'm not only gaming.
I need a lot of power to run my DAW and like, a kajillion VSTs. Basically I'll have a million and 1 programs running at once.

No, but really. You're not going to game jack shit on that unless you like low / medium settings. And in case you don't realise. Some people even make music on MacBooks (But fair enough, Macs are well known for 'Creative' stuff)

I might need 16 gigs.

I think an HD7970 would be a better choice. It costs less and performs better in some situations, as well as uses less power and produces less heat.
The PSU is also overkill, he'd do fine with a 600W.
