Hi guys
So my latest uni project is a website (and accompanying app) that really encourages students to get cooking. just giving them a cook book requires a lot of effort on their part to make it to the actual dish, but hopefully my project makes it all easier, and more interesting!
the main emphasis is on evening meals (because cooking lunch isn't really a viable option for many students, and breakfast is often skipped), so you say how many dinners you want the following week (let's say 4, 'cause you know you're going out on friday and saturday, and you have a date on tuesday), you then select 4 meals of your choice from a given list, and you get a shopping list on the website/sent to your phone. you'll get a reminder on the day you chose for dinner, you'll pick your meal from the 4 (that you already have ingredients for) and you can then follow the recipe on your phone (or website, but phone is better since you can easily take that to the kitchen). the recipes are explained simply, but not in a condescending way, and there are options to get more info on every aspect - don't know how to dice an onion? watch this video! don't know where to buy fresh ginger? read this!
it'll also give tips on things like storing and using leftovers (i.e. mondays lunch could be a chicken sandwich if you made a chicken roast dinner on sunday etc.), general meal plan/budgetting tips and all sorts of things like that
and there are different levels of difficulty for recipes, and the aim is that as you continue you become more confident with your cooking skill and feel comfortable trying these slightly more challenging dishes. and the skills you learn for some dishes will continue on, and you just keep building on them. there's also a slight social side to it, once you've completed dishes you can share your experiences/tips with others, rate the recipes, rate others dishes and earn some sort of skill points etc. 'cause people seem to love that shit
tl;dr it's a website/app that encourages and teaches students how to cook
so i need a name! i'm terrible at coming up with names for things, and i've been struggling with this one for about 2 days now. it should be short and snappy, memorable, and generally you should be able to gauge what is being offered. it could be a portmanteau of sorts, if it sounds good. but actually, the simpler the better! i'd like to see what sort of suggestions Facepunch can come up with, 'cause i could use all the help i can get right now!
[SUB]p.s. but please don't say iFood. i don't really want anything with the i_ prefix, that's giving off the wrong impression[/SUB]

no wait, i did!
FoodPunch.
Don't do it.
Seriously, though, I'm sure you would have come up with something if you didn't ask for help. Sometimes when I'm trying to come up with an idea, and I'm thinking about it too hard, I just wait and see if inspiration just naturally strikes eventually.
CookingCoach
i've been trying since wednesday :( i've just hit a slight wall because i can't continue with design until i have at least a starting name. it might not be the final name, but it'll be a starting point
i figured i have nothing to lose to ask for some additional ideas, you never know what someone else's suggestion might inspire

What about something down the "home comforts" route? I can't think of anything specific right now though. I've got a mate who's a pun machine, I'll ask him and get back to you. What course are you studying btw?
Also, as a slight edge it might be worth considering looking into breakfasts more... you could use it as an opportunity to promote eating breakfast because it's unhealthy to skip, most important meal of the day etc etc etc
Plus if it's focused on students, they could probably benefit from breakfast more than non-students.
