I'd be more inclined to buy this if it didn't use the iOS sprites...

I mean I don't disagree with you in regards of his iOS sprite, but that's hardly a reason to dismiss this. I mean, the fact that the sprites use only 2 frames of animation unlike the the original's 3 frames is the bigger issue with the iOS sprites.

They're clearly only 2 frames where the originals were 3. I mean, why couldn't they just add that 1 extra frame in there?
I probably won't get the trilogy as I only need the DS release of JFA and I want to give them all to a friend so she can try the series.
i'd probably get it if it wasn't e-shop exclusive i've already played them all twice so i don't need to play them again anytime soon
It's nice that it's dual-language, I'd like to see this more often generally (though I can't read Japanese).

Since this game apparently lacks a frame, I assume it would be due to that frame not existing in the concept art in the first place, but was created after the fact. They literally didn't make any new graphics for this game, so that's why I think it wouldn't exist. Although they would never do this, I think it would be rad as hell if they remade the original trilogy in 3D on the DD engine, along with a new orchestral cover of the soundtrack. Obviously not with any of the new investigation mechanisms.
I think I can overlook the sprites. I've been meaning to play through the trilogy again. I'm guessing the music from the trailer is not used in the game.
I'm still waiting for the trilogy on Android, was supposed to happen over a year ago. No longer have a DS so can't play them anymore.

This version zooms in and letterboxes the screen just to compensate for the different aspect ratio, doesn't have any reworked textures, or even have any reworked audio. Even missing a frame of animation just screams of mediocrity.

This is most likely better, unless you also have a DS to play the cartridge games on. [editline]15th December 2014[/editline] Well, unless you want to play in your native, non-J/EN language, in which case you probably need the original ones. I think I saw it marked as English in the German e-shop at least.
From what I understand, they updated the English scripts for the Trilogy to sound more natural, to fix any errors and to be more canonically accurate. Atleast, that's how it is for the English release. The original English script is intact in the Japanese version.

None of that post-processing effects.

Did they ever do more with Apollo and those characters I really liked Kristoph and Klavier
Did they ever do more with Apollo and those characters I really liked Kristoph and Klavier
Klavier and Apollo are in Dual Destinies.
Did they ever do more with Apollo and those characters I really liked Kristoph and Klavier
DD gave Apollo a tiny bit of backstory (only really revealing a "childhood" friend) And Klavier has an appearance for a case. It lead to an interesting scene, but they didn't really do anything with him past that. He merely existed for the rest of the stories sake. Trucy got reduced down to primarily magic panties jokes Kristoph and the rest don't get brought up. Everyone else is new characters.
It's a shame AJ didn't get its own spin-offs and got merged with PW instead. I haven't played DD Yet, though, so I'll see how I feel after.
It's still a solid game, but it still isn't the same as the originals However DD has a godly soundtrack
