If all else fails, Do a network boot using Serva32.

It's made for Linux, but it works fine for Windows too. You just need the install ISO.

Unetbootin never worked for me when I tried it with XP.
I was able to install XP via USB by following a guide, which I can't seem to find anymore, but similar guides can be found by googling 'xp usb install'.
