Doube-tapping the home button for music control removed in OS 3.1?

I noticed that I can't double tap the home button on my iPod touch to control my music anymore. This sucks, because if I want to listen to music in a game that cancels the music beforehand, i can't start it anymore. What's the deal with this?
I can still do it?

Wait
Fuck you're right it is gone.
shiiittt
Double-click on the Home button while the app is starting, then keep the little window open until the game takes control. Hit play and your music should resume playing.
But yes, the lack of having this window always available is fucking annoying.
Yet another reason to stay on 3.0, which isn't that good either.
If you want to have that feature, just downgrade back to .0.1
Not changing to 3.1 now, I use that all the time. :(
If I remember correctly there was a Cydia App that allowed you to change the redirection of the homebutton. So if you really want to get 3.1, just get the App. Otherwise... I just think it's a waste of time. Seriously, do you really expect your friends to send you an SMS exploit, which apparently is the only thing that 3.1 patches.

That's what 3.0.1 patched.

He said that.

No, if you read he said that's what 3.1 fixed. 3.0.1 fixed the SMS exploit.

Still isnt worth it in my book.
You can get it back!
Go to settings - general - home then switch it back to iPod. Problem solved :)
It only works when the music is already playing.

This makes it open the iPod/Music app, which is useless.
It works here for me. Both opening the App when it's closed and controlling the music when it's active.
works for me

You don't get it.
If you open an App and music is not playing, you could simply double tap the home button and a small window would pop up allowing you to play music. Now, though, if you double tap, it closes the application and opens up the iPod application, which is fucking useless.

It's always done -that- for me whenever the music isn't playing. :/
Actually, this problem existed even before 3.0. I think it happens on iPhones but not iPod touch.
Nope, my iPhone worked with the mini-iPod just fine.
