Recently bought a 5770 XFX card and it shows this...

850Mhz Core clock
But when I look in CPU-z it shows 400Mhz core clock.

What the shit do I do?
ATI Overdrive underclocks your graphics card when it's idle.
That's probably what is causing it, Try running a game then reading it.
Start a game and then look at the core speed.
yeah, nvidia cards underclock when idle too
Even if you start up a game, as soon as you close out of window it will revert back to 2D speeds. You can manually set your gpu to run at 3D speeds constantly, but by default the gpu slows down when your just using 2D applications on your desktop.
A lot of motherboards do this with processors, too.
