Hello, Facepunch! My webcam mic is shitty and my headphones aren't that good. So, I'm asking you guys, what headsets would you recommend? I have a fairly flexible price range of ~$50 (I live in Canada)
headsets suck, get a pair of headphones and a clip on mic headphones recommendations here http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1250718
Here's a headset: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/SP4HHQo.png[/thumb]
I have a Plantronics GameCom 307. It works pretty well for my basic needs, and it's only $30 or so. Just make sure to get an extended warranty, though - it has a bad tendency of dying on one side if you're rough with it. I kept running the cable over with my chair by accident, and I had to replace it two or three times until I put the cable through a wire collar screwed to the underside of my desk. (To be fair, I got it replaced for free every time, and it's probably not meant to endure being run over two or three times a day.) Still, if you only want a headset for voice chats and gaming, it's a good product. Never tried recording with it, though.
I have a Plantronics GameCom 307.
I had plantronics once.. they broke. Now I use $20 Phillips in-ear earphones. Best purchase ever; go through 2pairs a year.
Not sure if $50 Logitech G330 is a good buy.
I've been using the Steelseries Siberia V2 headset for about a year now, no problems whatsoever. They're very great quality for 70-80€ which is about 60$ or so. Two of my friends are also using them, the mic quality is very good.
I have a GameCon 780. Cost me about $80 but it works great. The only "problem" I have is that the microphone can pick up some background sounds, like the clicking of my keyboard. It can become an "annoyance" when typing really fast or when you have open-mic enabled for stuff.
Can't find many good headphones at that $50. If I were you I'd save up $150-$200 and just flat on buy a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770s. Built like a tank and will last for many many years with awesome sound quality and comfort. Better than spending $50 every now and then to buy a new average set that breaks after a few months.
