What's going on with the Anno 2070 sale?
Base game: $16.99
Complete pack: $34.99
DLC Complete pack: $5.99
So you can get the complete pack for 35 bucks or the complete pack (by buying the base game + dlc pack) for 23 bucks? Am I missing something here?
edit: Didn't notice Deep Ocean, which is 12 bucks so all the numbers square up. Is that DLC worth it at all?
Anno 2070's great, even with uPlay.
I highly recommend it, it's one of those games where you can zone out whilst playing it, and then sit back and look at what you've made. The fighting's terrible if you want to explore that area, but the building is great, and it's a building game, not a war game.
Anno looks like a real winner from the reviews I've been reading.
Funny how Ubisoft/Valve puts a city management game on sale right after SimCity flops. Clever buggers.
Anno 2070 is Anno 1404, but a future setting, and after a while in a game, instead of one city and it's needs you end up having three different type of cities and citizens with different needs
It doesn't have the 1404 charm but it's not bad
From what I've read it seems to be kind of a hybrid between SimCity and Civilization, is that correct?
Have you never played an Anno game?

Yup, that's a good way to put it.
The game focuses a lot on trade and such, so the main goal is basically to strategically get a working and optimized supply chain of resources going. Very fun and very addicting. Might have to install it again actually.
I've been wondering myself what Anno in general was. it just looked like a city building game, except more zoomed out than simcity.
It's really hard to box in. I'd almost want to say it's got some Pharaoh elements involved (speaking of which, must rebuy that) but it's similar to Simcity and the like, too.
I'm having issues actually sticking it in a category, but it's certainly worth getting, even if you don't get the DLC. There's a good LP on youtube by nanosuitninja if you want a quick look. (I believe he's a facepuncher, though not on often)
I got a good hundred or so hours out of it, and could easily see myself spending more on it if I had the time.

No
Does it still have the 3-activation limit DRM?
Ubi has been much better with how bad their DRM is. Atleast, compared to EA. I like Ubisoft now, atleast.
So is it worth getting the complete pack, the game+DLC complete pack, or just the base game?
I'll get DLC later, they'll probably be a finale sale later, at any rate the DLC will still be on sale, just not so much. Though it looks like Deep Ocean changes things up quite a bit.

I try to get on here often but im just so busy being awesome :v:

DO focuses mainly on end game material, there are some brilliant production optimization buildings to play with as well as the ridiculously awesome science forum.

BASED UBISOFT having another one of their gigantic sales that last all of fucking eternity?
I usually end up buying a thing from one of these.
I'm very much tempted to get the full DLC one, gonna talk to a friend in uni tomorrow and see if it is worth going for (so far, I've only heard good things about it - I've not delved into the city-building genre much either, so I suppose this should be a nice start)
Ubisoft at least learned their lesson about DRM. I see some improvements on their customer service and product as of lately.
Game's really great, I don't know exactly what I'm doing. But I'm getting the hang of things.
Yeah you'll get about halfway through the campaign before it starts to click into place.
