Hey everybody! My dad wants a new computer, for gaming/entertainment. His budget is around 600 bucks. Things I already have -Monitor, not sure on resolution, but its a 20" HD Samsung -mouse, keyboard, and speakers I would build it myself, but i've gotten a little rusty. I'm not too sure about these new cards radeon has out, 5000's??? I was looking at a 5770, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150464 Also, i would prefer an AMD processor, but its not that big of a deal. I'm already getting this with it, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148433, but if you can find a better one that would be fine too. Thanks!

I like western digital better, so thanks!
well, do you NEED 1tb, theres so money to be saved there
He has alot of movies/music.
How much is a lot? No point paying for something you'll never use. Cause that's basically what it will be if you don't use it all, what with 500GB costing half as much for half the capacity.
True, its around 300gb of stuff, but 500 should work. What would be a good choice?

If you want a slick looking 5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127484&cm_re=5770-_-14-127-484-_-Product
thats one good combo, go with that OP, you cant go wrong
Actually don't get the combo. Order the case and hard drive seperatly but remember to use the promo code it saves you $60. :3:
If you want really cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181R&cm_re=samsung_f3-_-22-152-181R-_-Product The Samsung F3 is actually very quick, faster than the Western Digital I think.

Get this combo deal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.340391 Free HDD mount. They're really handy to have.
I don't really like that case in the combo, any other good cases? Nothing too flashy or fancy, just a regular GOOD case. Oh, and i am going to need a card reader. Also, how is this for a processor? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680 [editline]04:20PM[/editline] Hows this for a combo? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.343305 I'm not that good with motherboards, but this one seems alright, plus i like the case. Will that motherboard work with the processor posted above?
That's a pretty decent combo, and probably the best dual core for the price. Also unlocks to a quad if you've got a well binned chip. right now most of the chips are able to unlock.
I remember reading that somewhere... I'm trying to figure out what else i need, what about a sound card?
Motherboards have built in sound.
If he is an audiophile or a musician, consider a dedicated sound card.
So i really don't need a sound card? How about a power supply? I am thinking of getting a 550w
550 will most likely be more than powerful enough, unless you end up buying some :happyelf: brand like Logisys
Hows this look? https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?BundleExist=N&ID=13981786&ChangeQty=0
private wish list man
ugh, how do i make it public? [editline]07:07PM[/editline] https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=13981786
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13981786 Looks pretty good, but I don't have any experience with BFG Tech PSUs, you would have to get someone else's opinion on that.
Aight thanks man

Solid build quality and nice braided cables. Also it powered a phenom II x3 triple core and a 4830.
