Hopefully it doesn't end up like 3 where the only way to make a character look different was to change their weight.

This literally showcases that it won't be like that.

We have come so far
Wait till somebody makes Shrek.
Heh, now that's one cool character editor. You can actually make faces significantly different. Me likey.
Perverts rejoice.
I can't wait to make Steve Buscemi
I like the idea that all the Sims games are part of a single storyline about the Goths

They clearly experimented a bit with story elements in The Sims 2, I wish they had explored this more in subsequent games because it was really cool
Bella's disappearance is a major component to the background story of Pleasantview and it's theorized that Maxis picked her for this major role because she is a mysterious, yet elegant, woman. Her last known whereabouts are Don Lothario's deck, and Don's photo album and memory panel show that he had attempted some romantic interactions with Bella, which she didn't accept, before she mysteriously disappeared. Many of Mortimer's, Cassandra's, and Alexander's memories involve Bella, meaning that she hasn't been gone for too long. On the family tree panel, Bella's face is not gray, which indicates that the game does not consider her to be dead. Although her husband and daughter have memories of her being abducted by aliens, the story does not explicitly state what happened to Bella. Oddly enough, most of the furniture was left untouched after she left. If a Sim uses the fingerprint scanner, much of the furniture was touched by her.
I didn't even realize the Sims had a story
The Sims games have always been strange ones, they've never really run well, they're always broken in multiple ways, yet I can always sink hours into them micromanaging a characters every actions (And then using mods to kill/manipulate other NPCs)

And Don Lothario himself went through time to end up in Sims 3.

i wish they made more games like the handheld titles. The Sims Bustin' Out on GBA was really a great game, the story and direct control was awesome and I want that in a PC title ;(
The Sims 3.5 will cost 70 dollars, no season pass, and 20K DLC's and Expansions... Also always online DRM.
I couldn't give less of a crap about character customization if optimization and load times are still shit.

And 15 minutes after release there's a mod that removes the breast size limit

I think you confused EA with Activision. Plus the expansions for The Sims aren't really a new thing and have kept their consistency from TS1. Even the stuff packs in the latest Sims aren't that bad.
Nice to see more character editors similar to the one in EVE Online. You do the same there. Instead of moving sliders you grab parts of t he body and move them around to adjust them.
