Not sure if this is the right section but anyways... I bought a used Fear 1 disc the other day. I put it in to my 360 and i get the "Unrecognized Disc" error. I cleaned it and everything and just when I had lost hope I clicked play one last time and it worked and everything ran smoothly. Today I'm having the same issue except it's not working. I've cleaned it off and everything but no luck. All my other games work just fine. Any ideas?
Edit: Now it works but it's like I have to leave the disc in the xbox for a while

Barely, I mean theres some minor stuff compared to some of the games I have and they run perfectly. As I said though it starts to run fine after I leave it in the Xbox for a while. Seems quite odd.
What you perceive as "minor" may actually be a deep scratch. Some of my XBOX games are horribly scratched, but it's all surface damage. The only disc that has problems is Shadow the Hedgehog (no comments) and it has one scratch, but its REALLY deep.
Try wiping the disk off in a RADIAL (inside -> outside) motion using a microfiber cloth. Do not wipe the disk using a tissue and especially not in a around-the-disk motion.
