Looking to build a computer budget around £750-£2000

I want to build a computer within the budget of £750-£2000 and buy the parts individually per month when I get paid etc. then after say 6-10 months of saving build it up and play on it, I'm looking for something high end, which would be able to play the likes of Shogun Total War, ARMA 2 and most future titles and high to maximum graphics.

I would like some help on the parts I should get, the cost and how to build from the base up, what tools I would need (if any) how long it would take to worth of saving (if I get paid £400 a month) and what OS I should purchase.

(also want a decent sound card, keyboard, mouse, speakers - not sure If I should get a headset instead)

If you're buying it part by part you'll want case, mobo, cpu, ram, hdd and OS first, right?

It depends on how much the stuff would cost within that budget, I want to play Total War games, ARMA 2 most PC titles that have great graphics - along with music, browsing etc.

don't buy parts separately, you can't use them until you have them all anyway and by 10 months time they will have dropped in price and new, better options will have come out and blah bah blah it's not worth remaking the build twice a month just to keep up

save up £1000 and make a thread then, you can get an upgradable build perfectly capable of 1920x1080 with all the trimmings like an SSD for that much
