So i just bought a fonera 2.0N router but i am not to sure as to what i get out of sharing my network? Could anyone shed some information with me? Can i just plug my ADSL cable into it to get internet access from it? Do i have to use a Ethernet cable from my existing router to the fonera? You can tell it to download or upload stuff, you just need to connect an external harddrive or such to it. And no, I think you can just plug in your "internet cable", it propably has an inbuilt modem. /e Oh and you can also setup an twitter account for it, so you know what it's doing.
Well in the picture It doesn't have a ADSL cable port so how can i connect my internet up to it?
simple, take the output from your ADSL modem and plug it into the internet port. Routers don't care about what type of internet is going in, it just splits it between multiple clients. You can even have a computer pass through internet to a router, as long as ICS is enabled and configured properly.
But it is a RJ11 cable will that work in a RJ45 port? If not what do i buy to make it work?
An ADSL router. I'm guessing you already have one. You take the output from your modem/router/switch, and plug it with an ethernet cable into the ethernet port.
Yea i know that my dad is pretty anal about the whole power usage thing lol
Then you're pretty much out of luck, unless the new Fonera has an added ADSL modem, which I doubt.
I'll buy it off you!
I'll buy it off of you :eng101:.
Is it that good of a router then? Will want full price for it BTW
