• Transfer contents of dvd to hard drive?

I just bought battlefield 3 today, and tried to install it on my desktop pc but it wasn't detecting the dvd. I tried putting in other dvds in but they weren't detected either so clearly the drive is broken. However when i put it in my laptop the disk was detected. Is it possible to put the cd in my laptop, connect an external hdd to my laptop, transfer the data onto the hard drive and then connect the HD to my desktop and install it that way? If not, is there anything else I can do? I don't really have the money right now to buy a new dvd drive, and my laptop cannot run battlefield 3.

I would think that it would, though I've never bought the PC version.
Do you have Origin? Can't you just redeem the key in Origin and download the game?
