I didn't really notice before now, but the artstyle is kinda stupid. I like to think of the Civ series as a more civilized game (pun intended) with serious game mechanics, classy artstyle and so forth, not something that looks like a pixar film.

Probably taking a page from Age Of Empires Online, which if I recall correctly went with a cartoony art style.
