Ok, so yesterday my Wireless-network-driver turned off. The first thing i did was to reinstall the driver, however, this seems to have turned of my fan! I can't leave my computer on for more than 10 minutes!
I am using a HP pavillion dv5 1207eo notepad (Known for overheating, so this is a big problem!)
I am currently writing this in my window, just so it wont overheat, I then use my vacuum-cleaner once every 5 mins to circulate the air.
I was wondering, what did I do, and how do I fix it?

1:Go into your bios and check the settings for the fan.
2:for hardware check. Google and download speedfan and use it to control the fan manually.
Can the windows-driver manager have turned of both the WLAN and the Fan? And if so, how do I turn it on? (Just an idea)

Your first tip was the first thing I did after detecting the problem.
My settings is [Fan] [Always on]
So that's not it. The whole fan-driver must be fucked, but i'll try speedfan

Yes no and Yes.
Your bios controls your fanspeed not windows. Windows can just overwrite the bios.
Your fan should start spinning even before you get into windows.

Yeah, but the fan doesn't ever start, not even in BIOS, it's as if I broke my fan, however, I do not believe this is the case, because it only stopped working once i restarted my PC after installing the new network-driver
[editline]10:23PM[/editline]
My temperature is now 73 degrees celcius! Hurry up guys! :O
Well I am guessing a broken fan.
1:Else you could try to restore your pc to a previous state.
2:Reinstal windows
3:Flash your bios.
Still give speedfan a try tough.
Ok, I checked Speedfan, it shows up that the program isn't able to detect my poor little fan :O
Maybe windows disabled it in such a way that it doesn't detect it anymore? How do i turn it on again?
[editline]10:28PM[/editline]
I'm currently at "Windows device manager", maybe the fan has been turned of here, but I have no idea what it is named :O
I'll still try to find the answer, but it would be helpful if you knew where to find my fan-device (What category or something)

I am pretty sure you have an Hardware error.
Your fan should spin up on reboot before windows loads.

But it doesn't!
However, the same can be said about my network driver, but that also had to be fixed.
Remember, I'm on a laptop, I haven't dropped my comp or anything, the the shit shouldn't be broke or anything.
I'm also pretty sure it's a hardware-error, as i am at the hardware-device-manager at this moment.

Your network driver is controlled by windows not your bios.
Your fans are vice versa.
I say hardware error and can't think of annything else that could be wrong.
I think evryone here would agree with me but, well you never know.
Good luck.
Even though it's a hardware error it should be fixable.
I am currently updating my "Unknown devices" as I hope to find my fan-device there.
[editline]10:38PM[/editline]
Ok, it wasn't a unknown driver, do you know where I am supposed to find the device? If I knew where it was I woulda been done yesterday!
[editline]12:24AM[/editline]
Ok, just now my screen turned of. I had to reboot to fix it.
What the hell is happening?
Ok, I tried System Restore, it's still fucked.
What am I supposed to do guys?
Replace the fan. There aren't any real drivers for fans, if they get power, they turn on. Fan controllers just adjust how much power the fan receives. Maybe there was a surge or something when you rebooted, doesn't matter, your fan needs to be replaced.
Just like everyone else says, your fan might be dead.
The network driver thing might not even be related, it may have [I]randomly[/I] happened after you installed that driver.

Yeah, I'll get it for repairs tomorrow.
I still have 3 days on my warranty! I bought it around this time of the year last year :D
[editline]04:11PM[/editline]
Ok, I'll get all my awesome, irreplaceable stuff over to a portable HDD, and then I'll see you guys in a couple of days (Hopefully)
[editline]04:17PM[/editline]
Anyway, thanks for the tips you guys! Too bad it didn't work out that well in the end :/
I'll miss you... for a while.
