Well that was out of the blue. Let's be having IX now, Enix.
There were rumors that VIII might be coming starting yesterday, didn't think they'd have worked so quickly.
Woah. I like these kinds of surprises. KEEP 'EM COMING.
With all these old games, I just want my command and conquer first decade available on steam :'(
Huh, they did touch it up a little. It looks like FF8's PC version, which had higher resolutions for various things except the backgrounds, but the character textures seem a bit.. Cleaner/filtered. Not sure if that was there before. [editline]5th December 2013[/editline] Although it sounds like the music may be MIDI/OGG'd MIDIs again, judging by the reviews. Now it'll just take another whole damn year for them to eventually fix it like they did FF7. :v:
Ow, right in the childhood. Might have to pick this one up sometime.
Are there any PC related issues with this? Cause I remember the PC version of FF7 (even on Steam) has issues because the music didn't sound as good or something? I couldn't remember what the issue with the PC port was.

so is the FFVIII port good.?
so is the FFVIII port good.?
Yea nothing wrong with it so far, I don't remember much from it. [Haven't played it since I was a kid, and my playstation kept crashing at the robot spider chase. but im liking it] (like having to draw magic from people)
Or Free with Emulator. (wow i can talk i got final fantasy 7 on steam.)
Well that was out of the blue. Let's be having IX now, Enix.
Probably not gonna happen, IX wasn't ported to PC previously. Which is a shame, because unlike VIII it's good.
I have tried really hard to like 8 but the entire combat system with drawing magic just really makes it difficult for me to like it.
A year? It only took them like a month. EDIT: Since the Steam release I mean.
It was available on the Square Enix store long before it was on steam.
Another wonderfully half-assed overpriced port by Squeenix.
Another wonderfully half-assed overpriced port by Squeenix.
So wait for a sale it's not like waiting would kill anyone. 7 was like $4 during the Autumn sale.
I have tried really hard to like 8 but the entire combat system with drawing magic just really makes it difficult for me to like it.
What draws me away, no pun intended, from FF8 is the Junction system. The game silently discourages normal leveling up to using around-the-bend ways to increase your stats ahead of the curb, because not using Junctioning will get you curbstomped due to enemies getting stronger each time you level up. Infact, breaking the game by turning enemies to Cards for AP rather than EXP and almost never leveling up except on bosses is practically encouraged to a degree.
FF8 is fucking terrible. When a side character's story is cooler and more interesting than the main character's, you have, in fact, jumped the shark.

Also, I used to love the card game in FF8. Definitely gonna try it out again
