I have an Australian PSN account with FFVIII. Can I register a US account, download Tomb Raider, copy it to my PSP and play both games whenever I want, without re-registering my PSP every time? I am told that you cannot register a PSP with more than one account. However, in the past a friend has transferred Crash Bandicoot onto my already registered legit firmware PSP and I have been able to play his and my games without pissing about registering different accounts. It said something about being able to share with up to 5 accounts. Is this still in effect? Or has Sony stooped to a new level of digital evil?
I don't think it is. I tried transferring Spyro to a friend of mine's PSP the other day and it said "This PSP uses a different account than the current PS3 account. If you transfer this game to the PSP, the current PS3 copy will be invalidated." Or something like that.
Gah, that's a shame. I don't know why they think it should be limited to just the one account. If I bought a hard copy of that game I would be able to lend it to anyone I wanted. With the money they save on packaging, manufacturing, physical distribution etc you'd think they'd allow a bit of freedom with these digital copies. Edit: Although, if it de-authorises the original payer's account, allowing it to be transferred to someone else's account, that's kind of like lending the physical disk, right?
Precisely.
I don't know if I want to spend $10 just to find out I can't. Those Sony bastards need to make their money-trickery clearer.
